QuickPlay Privacy Policy

Overview

QuickPlay is a Chrome extension that lets you control HTML5 video playback speed on websites. This privacy policy explains what information the extension handles and how that information is used.

QuickPlay does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal user data with the developer or third parties.

Information Stored Locally

QuickPlay uses the Chrome storage permission to save your preferences in chrome.storage.sync. This may include:

• Default playback speed
• Skip interval setting
• Whether the extension is enabled or disabled

These settings are stored by Chrome on your device and may sync across your signed-in Chrome browsers. They are not sent to any server operated by the QuickPlay developer.

Website Access

To provide its core functionality, QuickPlay runs a content script on web pages that may contain HTML5 video elements. The extension:

• Detects <video> elements on the page
• Adjusts video playback speed based on your settings
• Shows hover controls and responds to keyboard shortcuts you use

Page content, browsing history, URLs, and video data are processed locally in your browser only. QuickPlay does not record, store, or transmit this information to the developer or any external service.

Data We Do Not Collect

QuickPlay does not collect:

• Personally identifiable information
• Health, financial, or authentication information
• Location data
• Web browsing history
• Analytics, keystroke logging, or activity tracking data
• Website content for storage or transmission

Third Parties

QuickPlay does not use analytics services, advertising networks, or other third-party data collection tools. All extension code is bundled in the published package and is not loaded from remote servers at runtime.

Children's Privacy

QuickPlay is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.

Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.
